MS Excel - Insert column is not working

Issue: 
Ms Excel - Insert column is not working / Option for insert column is disabled / Not getting option for insert column

O/S:
Windows

Solution / Workaround:

  1. Close all open Excel workbooks
  2. Go to directory "%appdata%\Microsoft\Excel", in Windows Explorer
  3. Rename the file:  "Excel15.xlb" to "Excel15.bkp" (Just to keep a copy of this file)

That's it!

Excel generates "Excel15.xlb" files automatically, when you open any workbook. In case, things don't work, you have the old copy backed up in step #3. Just rename it back to .xlb and you should be in the original situation again.
